Error 1722 occurs during installation
Summary
Error 1722 may occur when installing the Curriculum Organiser program (step 2 of 3 of the Curriculum Organiser Setup window). It is less likely, but still possible, to also occur when installing the document set (step 3 of 3 of the Curriculum Organiser Setup window).
The error message for error 1722 is: “There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.”
Cause
The Curriculum Organiser 'InstallShield' setup attempts to run two non-critical commands after installing the main components of Curriculum Organiser. If either of these cannot be run, error 1722 is produced.
Solution · For the Curriculum Organiser Document Set
Please contact Education Research Solutions support on 1300 669 810.
· For the Curriculum Organiser Program
The solution is to use the alternative Curriculum Organiser setup on the installation CD (to bypass the non-critical commands), located at:
[CD Drive]Curriculum OrganiserAdminsetup.exe.
Just run this setup instead of step 2 in the Curriculum Organiser Setup window.
If you are also setting up the Central Document Set, and the error has occurred when installing Curriculum Organiser from the Central Document Set area, you can replace the entire contents of the following Curriculum Organiser folder (installed at the same time and in the same location as the Central Document Set):
[drive or network location]Curriculum OrganiserSetups[Document Set Name and VersionCurriculum Organiser
with the entire contents of the following folder on the Curriculum Organiser CD:
[CD drive]Curriculum OrganiserAdmin
More Information
The error is produced by Windows Installer (which the InstallShield setup utility instructs) and refers to the failure to run a (non-critical) Custom Action.
· If error 1722 occurs when installing the Curriculum Organiser program, the error is caused by one of the following custom actions, run during setup: 1) Check if Microsoft Word is installed, or
2) Attempt to redisplay the Curriculum Organiser Setup window, ready for step 3.
· If error 1722 occurs when installing a Curriculum Organiser document set, please contact Education Research Solutions support on 1300 669 810.
